Today (8 April 2016) morning we were glad to welcome Fernanda from IBM Italia to give a seminar titled “IBM Watson offering and some insights on IBM Cloud and BlueMix” at the Department of Computing Science in the University of Aberdeen.
This is one of the knowledge transfer activities carried out during Fernanda’s secondment in Aberdeen from 24 March 2016 to 10 April 2016, hosted by Dr. Jeff Pan from the University of Aberdeen. During this period, the research activities she involved are mainly focused on cognitive computing, together with Dr. Marco Monti and Dr. Yuting Zhao, both from IBM Italia, and Dr. Jeff Pan.
In these days, IBM has been promoting cognitive computing business globally concentrated on IBM Watson, which is a technology platform that uses natural language processing and machine learning to reveal insights from large amounts of unstructured data. As the cloud development platform, IBM Bluemix enables the users to build and run one’s apps to access a catalog of services and APIs from IBM, third-parties, and communities that can help automate integrating new functionality into one’s products such as Watson, analytics, security, DevOps, and more.
