On 25th March 2014, we will have an Open Excellent Workshop located in Room 203, Meston Building, University of Aberdeen. The theme will be published very soon. Following this event, we will have a two-day K-Drive workshop on 26-27th March 2014. The venue will be Meeting Room 3, The Sir Duncan Rice Library.
K-Drive is organising `Scottish Linked Data Interest Group Workshop 2013`, which will be on 2nd Dec., 2013. The venue will be Room 203 Meston building, Aberdeen University. The purpose of this workshop is to inform users of Linked Data some recent research results on exploiting linked data.
The workshop is free and open to anyone. Because the venue has limited capacity and to help with planning we’d like to know how many people are coming, so please register for the event here.
We are pleased to announce that a data summarisation servicewhich is to help users get
a quick understanding of RDF dataset. Users can submit the URL of the RDF data to get a live summarisation of it. The service is a result of K-Drive WP3 (Efficient and Scalable Query Generation). It will be used by students of Semantic Web Engineering Course (2013-2014) to help them finish their assessments. We will report feedbacks from the students later. Marco Monti and Alessandro Faraotti, Marie Curie Research Fellows from IBM Italia, gave an industrial lecture to students of Semantic Web Engineering Course.
Dr. Honghan Wu gave a talk at STI Symposium on Research and Innovation in Horizon2020. The title of the talk is `Integrated Development Environment of Linked Data Lifecycle
`. The idea is to utilise K-Drive’s outcomes (Linked Data Exploitation techniques) in a linked data publishing and consuming framework especially for dealing with Big Data challenges of data variety and dynamics.
Dr. Jeff Z. Pan gave a tutorial on stream reasoning for Linked Data at ISWC 2013. His presentation is titled `OWL Reasoning and Stream Reasoning with LOD`, which is available at here. It introduced our recent work on faithful approximate reasoning for OWL2-DL, as well as its extensions for ontological stream reasoning in OLW2-DL.
Dr. Boris Villazón-Terrazas, the seconded K-Driver from iSOCO, will give a seminar in the computing science department of Aberdeen University. Detailed information is as follows.
